Plenty of agents across Glasgow, Lanarkshire and Edinburgh now own a drone and a Flyer ID, and use it for listing photography — the elevated front shot, the plot boundary, the view from the back garden. The drone is already at the property, already in the air, and already paid for. What most agents do not do is spend five extra minutes flying the roof and turning those frames into something a vendor or buyer will pay for.
The gap this fills in a sale
Roof condition is one of the most common reasons a Scottish home report or a buyer's survey triggers a renegotiation. The buyer's surveyor writes a cautious line about the roof covering, the buyer knocks a few thousand off, and the sale wobbles at exactly the wrong moment. A dated, photographic roof report produced before the property goes to market changes that conversation: either the roof is sound and you can say so with evidence, or the vendor finds out early and fixes it on their own terms.
What the white-label system does
- You upload the aerial photographs you already took. No new kit, no new software on your laptop.
- AI analyses each image for slipped and cracked tiles, mortar loss, flashing defects, blocked or broken guttering and moss build-up, and places a marker on each one.
- You review every finding, approve, edit or reject it, and circle anything the model missed.
- The finished report carries your agency's logo, brand colour and contact details — not ours. Nowhere on the report, the link or the client email does Ayeinspect appear.
- The client gets a clean web report with photographs, plain-English descriptions and a severity grade per defect, plus a printable PDF version.
The numbers for an agency
Credits cost £10 each, dropping to £7.40 each on the 50-credit pack. One credit publishes one report. Agents typically bundle a roof report into a premium listing package or sell it to the vendor as a pre-market condition check for £75 to £150. Even at the low end, the margin per property is comfortable and the marginal work is a five-minute flight and a ten-minute review.
This is not a substitute for a chartered surveyor's home report and should never be presented as one. It is a photographic condition record of the roof — evidence, not a valuation.
Practical and legal points
- Fly within the CAA's rules for your category and hold the appropriate Operator ID and Flyer ID.
- Get the vendor's written consent to publish or share the report, especially where neighbouring properties appear in frame.
- Be clear in the report wording that it is a non-contact visual inspection: nothing has been lifted, probed or tested.
- Keep your grading honest. A report that flags real wear is far more useful — and far more defensible — than one that says everything is fine.
Getting set up
A trade account takes a few minutes: sign up, upload your logo, set your brand colour and buy a credit pack. Team seats let several negotiators or a dedicated photographer work under one account with a shared credit balance. If you want to see the output before committing, the sample report on this site is the same layout your clients would receive with your branding on it.
