Two things decide whether a drone roof survey day runs smoothly: the weather and the driving. Fly in the wrong gusts and the images are unusable. Plan the stops in the wrong order and you lose an hour crossing the city twice. This update tackles both, and adds a few things trade accounts have been asking for.
Weather-aware scheduling
Each inspection day now opens with a forecast for the two booking windows — morning (8am to midday) and afternoon (midday to 5pm) — taken for the area the day's jobs actually sit in, not a generic city reading. You see average wind, maximum gusts, expected rainfall, cloud cover and temperature for each window.
Each window is then graded in plain English. Good to fly means calm and dry. Marginal means it is flyable but expect drift or passing showers. Do not fly means gusts or rain are outside safe limits for the aircraft and the imaging quality we promise.
- Gusts, sustained wind and rainfall are all checked, not just the headline weather icon.
- Grades are calculated per window, so a washed-out morning does not write off the afternoon.
- Unsafe windows are flagged before the day starts, not when we arrive at your door.
For customers, the practical benefit is fewer wasted appointments. If the forecast turns, we can move the slot early and tell you why, rather than turning up, looking at the sky and rebooking on the doorstep.
One-click rescheduling that emails the client
When a window is flagged as unsafe, any job in it can be moved to a new date and window in a couple of taps. The booking updates and the client automatically receives a confirmation email with the new slot — no separate phone call, no forgotten follow-up.
Route planning for the day's jobs
The day's confirmed inspections are now geocoded from their postcodes and ordered into a sensible driving sequence, nearest stop first. Each run shows how many stops it has, the approximate mileage and a rough driving time, plus a single button that opens the whole multi-stop route in Google Maps.
Tighter routing means more inspections fit into a day and appointment windows hold up better, which matters when you have taken time off work to be in. It also flags any booking whose postcode cannot be located, so a typo gets caught before it becomes a missed visit.
New dashboard tools for trade accounts
- A command centre showing today's jobs, open tickets, revenue and anything needing attention.
- Trade insights: your credit balance with an estimate of how long it will last at your current pace, monthly report volume and the defect types you find most.
- A grouped navigation menu — Workspace, Billing, Operations and Manage — with a mobile accordion instead of one long list of links.
- Keyboard search: press Cmd+K (or Ctrl+K) to jump straight to a survey, booking, ticket or account.
